Date of issue - 2002 Size - 115x6 mm  OBVERSE:The obverse of the banknote features a portrait of Niko Pirosmanashvili (Pirosmani), a famous Georgian artist, with the legend, "Pirosmani 1862-1918". 
REVERSE: The reverse of the banknote features a panorama of Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, and an image of a stag from a Pirosmani painting. 
TWO LARI 
Date of issue - 2002Size - 115x61 mm  OBVERSE:The obverse of the banknote features a portrait of Georgian composer Zakaria Paliashvili and legend "Zakaria Paliashvili 1871 - 1933". The left side features the overture notes of his opera "Abesalom and Eteri".

REVERSE: The reverse of the banknote features the building of Tbilisi's Zakaria Paliashvili opera and ballet state theatre with the legend "Tbilisi National Opera and Ballet Theatre 1887".

Date of issue -2002Size - 115x61 mm  OBVERSE:The obverse of the banknote features a portrait of Ivane Javakhishvili, a Georgian academic, with a legend that reads "Ivane Javakhishvili 1876-1940".       
REVERSE: The reverse of the banknote features the building of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, as well as an open book and a plant ornament underneath.
  
TEN LARI  
Date of issue - 2002Size - 125x63 mm  OBVERSE:The obverse of the banknote features a portrait of Akaki Tsereteli, a famous Georgian poet and public figure, with the legend "Akaki Tsereteli 1840-1915", a swallow and a blossoming branch. 
REVERSE: The reverse of the banknote features the portrait of a mother from the Georgian artist David Kakabadze's painting "Imereti - Mother of Mine" and a vine tendril. 

TWENTY LARI

Date of issue - 2002Size - 131x65 mm  OBVERSE:  The obverse of the banknote features a portrait of Ilia Chavchavadze, a prominent public figure, with the legend "Ilia Chavchavadze 1837-1907", the magazines "Sakartvelos Moambe" and "Iveria", which he founded, and some of his personal belongings. 
REVERSE: The reverse of the banknote features the monument to King Vakhtang Gorgasali, the founder of Tbilisi; a map of Tbilisi in the 18th century (prepared by Vakhushti Bagrationi); and a panorama of old Tbilisi featuring the Narikala fortress. 
FIFTY LARI 

Date of issue - 2004Size - 135x66 mm  OBVERSE:The obverse of the banknote features a portrait of King Tamar, a 12th century Georgian ruler, in the center and an image of an animal with wings on the left hand side. 
REVERSE: The reverse of the banknote features the astrological sign of Sagittarius from a Georgian miniature manuscript of the 12th century. 


 ONE HUNDRED LARI    
Date of issue - 2004Size  - 140x67 mm  OBVERSE:  The obverse of the banknote features a portrait of Shota Rustaveli, a Georgian poet, and the legend "Shota Rustaveli XII c." A composition featuring angels raising a cross appears on the left hand side of the banknote. 
 
REVERSE: The reverse of the banknote features a composition from the Biblical story "Daniel in the den of lions" from the Martvili monastery relief and the legend "Martvili VII c." 
TWO HUNDRED LARI   
Date of issue  - 2007Size - 146x72 mm  OBVERSE:The portrait on the obverse of the banknote depicts a Georgian national hero, Kaikhosro (Kakutsa) Cholokashvili. The background of the banknote is enhanced with fragments of relief images of Georgian cultural artifacts.

REVERSE: The reverse of the banknote depicts the city of Sokhumi and relief fragments of the iconostasis found in the village of Tsebelda in the Gulribshi region.
